When exporting, instead of burning direct to disc, create to a DVD Folder. Create a slide show as normal, using the photos you added to the folder you made in step 1. Before creating the actual slide show, copy the image files you want to a new, dedicated folder. This is the method I've used, pursuant to my "files and folders the way God intended" ideology. There may be an official way using Nero MediaHome to streamline this process, but I didn't get that far in my testing. On the other hand, these steps work for basically any DVD authoring title.
